How the estimates work
Resting energy is estimated with Mifflin–St Jeor: 10 × kilograms + 6.25 × centimeters − 5 × age, then +5 for the male equation or −161 for the female equation. We multiply this by a rough activity factor of 1.2, 1.375, 1.55 or 1.725. These activity categories are approximate assumptions, not measurements of your personal expenditure. The displayed result is rounded to the nearest 50 kcal.
Food values come from USDA FoodData Central, FNDDS 2021–2023, published October 31, 2024. Nutrients are supplied per 100 grams and scaled by your selected weight. Reference IDs and exact food descriptions are available on each card. A linked home recipe may have different ingredients, fat content and yield.
