Macaroni, burgers, brownies: the list is real

The Reagan Library’s favourite-food list includes macaroni and cheese, grilled hamburgers and brownies. That gives this menu unusually direct support for all three choices. The familiar jelly beans are only one small part of a broader appetite for American home food.

Choose macaroni for a bubbling oven supper or a burger when you want dinner from the skillet. Brownies finish either meal. Our methods and quantities are modern home adaptations; the combination of foods comes from the library’s account of Reagan’s preferences.
