    Stir the sugar with 1 cup of the water until dissolved; use slightly warm water if needed, then let it cool.

  2. Step 2

    Pour into a pitcher with the lemon juice and remaining water. Stir and taste.

  3. Step 3

    Chill, then serve over ice with lemon slices. Add more water if your lemons are especially sharp.
